Condition: Very good, given age. Some browning, laid down on a supportsheet with additional border linework on support sheet. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Made by ‘J. T. Serres’. John Thomas Serres (1759-1825) was an English marine painter from London. He was the son of the marine painter Dominic Serres, from French origin. In 1793 he succeeded his father as Marine painter to George III. In 1800 he became Marine draughtsman and sailed the British coastline, France, Spain and into Mediterranean to make drawings of coastline elevations.
