Medium: Pen, ink, and wash on paper on hand-laid (verge) paper.

Sheet size: 21.9 x 17 cm (8.62 x 6.69 inch). Image size: 20 x 16 cm. (7.87 x 6.3 inch).

Condition: good, given age. Light foxing visible, minor age-related wear. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography artist: Franz Innocenz Josef Kobell (1749-1822) was a German painter and draftsman, known for his evocative Italianate landscapes. Born in Mannheim, his works reflect classical influences and an appreciation for pastoral themes. He was named the ‘Mannheimer Kobell’ and the younger brother of Fernand Kobell (1740-1799).
