Biography artist: Franz Innocenz Josef Kobell (1749-1822) was a German painter and draftsman, known for his evocative Italianate landscapes. Born in Mannheim, his works reflect classical influences and an appreciation for pastoral themes. He was named the ‘Mannheimer Kobell’ and the younger brother of Fernand Kobell (1740-1799).
