This print shows a view on a traditional regional French costume. The woman wears a wide hat with a blue brim and a black sash/bow, a red checkered shawl (fanchon or scarf), a colorful striped and floral skirt, and a basket of flowers in her hand.
Made by an anonymous engraver after Gratiane de Gardilanne and Elisabeth Whitney Moffat.
Medium: Collotype, pochoir and retouched by hand on wove paper.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This attractive print was published in Paris, Editions du Pégase, 1929. The originals were donated by an American patron to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and constitute a set of 200 plates. .
