BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Watercolor painting signed “B. Stutterheim,” likely an amateur artist. It is based on the famous “Chrysanten” (Chrysanthemums) by Ignace Henri Jean Fantin-Latour, originally painted in 1871.

Biography artist: Ignace Henri Jean Fantin-Latour (1836-1904) was a French painter and lithographer known for his floral still-lifes and group portraits of famous contemporary artists and writers. This work is a later interpretation by B. Stutterheim, an amateur painter.
