Handcoloured lithographed anatomical plate showing “het zintuig des gezigts, en wel bijzonder van de afzonderlijke deelen des oogbols” (the parts of the body relating to vision, and more specifically the eyeball). Plate LIX, vol. 1, from: “Magazijn van ontleedkunde, of volledige verzameling van ontleedkundige afbeeldingen van het menschelijk ligchaam” (Amsterdam, C.G. Sulpke, [1839]). These plates are lithographed after drawings by the foremost physicians of the time, such as Rosenmuller, Loder, Karel Bell, Gordon & Bock.
