Handcoloured lithographed anatomical plate showing “het wandbeen, slaapbeen, achterhoofdsbeen en de onderkaak, alsmede het bovenste en achterste gedeelte van het ligchaam des wiggebeens zijn weggenomen, om de holligheden van het wiggebeen te kunnen zien” (the parietal bone, temporal bone, occiput, lower jaw, and the top and side of the sphenoid have been taken away to reveal the cavities of the sphenoid). Plate XV, vol. 1, from: “Magazijn van ontleedkunde, of volledige verzameling van ontleedkundige afbeeldingen van het menschelijk ligchaam” (Amsterdam, C.G. Sulpke, [1839]). These plates are lithographed after drawings by the foremost physicians of the time, such as Rosenmuller, Loder, Karel Bell, Gordon & Bock.
