Handcoloured lithographed anatomical plate showing “tongbeenen, van strottenhoofden en derzelver kraakbeenderen, almede van de vliezen en spieren, waardoor deze kraakbeenige deelen ondelring bijeengehouden worden” (hyoid bones, larynxes and their cartilages, as well as the muscles and membranes that keep these cartiloid part together). Plate XXXVI, vol. 1, from: “Magazijn van ontleedkunde, of volledige verzameling van ontleedkundige afbeeldingen van het menschelijk ligchaam” (Amsterdam, C.G. Sulpke, [1839]). These plates are lithographed after drawings by the foremost physicians of the time, such as Rosenmuller, Loder, Karel Bell, Gordon & Bock.
