– Original antique print illustrating a biblical scene from the New Testament, john 20; The disciple Thomas missed Jesus’ first appearance after the resurrection. He refused to believe the other disciples’ claims, demanding to see and physically touch Jesus’ wounds. A week later, Jesus returned and invited Thomas to touch his hands and side, curing his doubt.

Biography engraver: Matthijs Pool (1676–1740) was an engraver from the Dutch Republic.

Biography artist: Arnold Houbraken (1660-1719) was a painter, engraver and writer from Dordrecht. He was s student of Willem Drillenbrug, Jacob de Vecq and Samual van Hoogstraeten. Pieter de Hondt, Dutch publisher and bookseller (1696–1764).
