Biography engraver: Jan Piotr Norblin (Jean-Pierre Norblin de la Gourdaine, 1745-1830), French painter, draftsman, and printmaker. Active in Poland 1774-1804 under the patronage of the Czartoryski family. Considered the father of Polish genre painting. Admirer and imitator of Rembrandt in his etchings.
