BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Anonymous Dutch silversmith-engraver likely working in Groningen or the northern Netherlands, early 18th century. Possibly connected to the workshop of Focko Raerda.

Biography engraver: Jan de Vries was a Dutch engraver active in the late 17th century known for producing engraved scenes of historical and military events, often adapted for use on silverwork. These anonymous plates closely follow his style.
