Condition: good, given age. Creases. Small tear in margin restored. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

This print was published Collection of views related to the Great Turkish War, Mediterranean views and views of biblical places. Antwerpen, Jacob Peeters, c. 1680. .

Biography engraver: Lucas Vorsterman (1595-1675) the elder was a Dutch Baroque engraver. He worked with the artists Peter Paul Rubens and Anthony van Dyck, as well as for patrons such as Thomas Howard, 21st Earl of Arundel and Charles I of England.

Biography artist: Jan Peeters the elder (1624-1677) was a Flemish Baroque painter and draughtsman. He is known for his seascapes often depicting stormy seas and shipwrecks as well as for his topographical drawings.
