Biography engraver: Laurent Cars (1699?1771) was a French engraver, known for his finely executed portraits and reproductions of French academic paintings. He was appointed Graveur du Roi and became one of the most respected engravers of the 18th century.
Biography artist: Charles-Nicolas Cochin fils (1715?1790) was a prominent French draughtsman, engraver, and art critic. As Dessinateur du Roi and member of the Acad?mie Royale, he contributed significantly to 18th-century visual culture.
