Biography engraver: Alexandre Emile Lapie (1779-1839) was a French cartographer, engraver, and geographer who produced highly detailed maps of the world during the early 19th century. He served as chief geographer for the French military and published several atlases. His works were widely recognized for their accuracy and were used for military and political reference during his time.
