BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Published in The Universal Traveller: Or, A Compleat Description of the Several Nations of the World by Thomas Salmon, 1752.

Biography artist: Thomas Salmon was mostly self-educated English historian who also lived in both the East and West Indies. He sailed with Lord Anson on his 1740-1744 circumnavigation. He published numerous works in world gazetteers, geographical grammars and histories, and travel narratives.
