First drawn by George Studdy and published printed in ‘The Sketch Magazine’. Bonzo became a very popular cartoon character published in many countries. It led to various merchandise and even to stage and film productions.
The Sketch was a British illustrated weekly journal which ran from 1893-1959.
George Ernest Studdy (1878-1948) was a British commersial artist from Devonport.
