From an unidentified Atlas by Louis Brion de la Tour, published by Louis Charles Desnos in 1765, possibly a rare custom-ordered atlas. These maps lack the seperately printed border surrounding these maps typically. Most all ed. of these maps have a decorative border surrounding the maps. We have found this ed. to be scarse.

Made by an anonymous engraver after ‘Louis Charles Desnos’. Publisher: Louis Charles Desnos (1725-1805), who was an important intrument & globe maker, cartographer and publisher in Paris. He worked with Zannoni and Louis Brion de la Tour (c.1743-1803), a French grographer and demographer.

Condition: Very good, given age. Original middle folds as issued. Light soiling. Eastern hemisphere map with some remains of manuscript drawing near corners. Slight paper separation at fold ends, backed. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
