Antique print, titled: ”In de societeit van de utrechtse studenten vereniging Prometheus […].” – Announcement for an exposition of lithographic rotaprints by Aat Veldhoen. The portrait shows the seated figure of a head chaplain from the Dutch military in uniform, G. Wentholt. Signed, numbered (?) and dated in the lower right: “Veldhoen X ’64”. The announcement mentions the opening of the exposition by Head Chaplain Lieutenant colonel G. Wentholt. Provenance: From a private collection, further provenance unknown.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Aat Veldhoen’ after own design. Arie Johannes (“Aat”) Veldhoen (1934-) was a Dutch painter and draughtsman. However, from the 1960’s he started drawing directly on offset plates, and printing these as rotaprints. These were sold directly from a cargo bike in Amsterdam. He is mainly known for the erotic prints he made in the early 1960’s, although Veldhoen is still active.

Condition: Very good, given age. Remains of attachment (to wall or notice board) to the rear top edge. Minimal surface damage in the top margin on the rear (visible on front as a slightly darker spot). Remains of attachment to matting in the top margins rear. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
