Antique print, titled: ”Dole. Grande et forte Ville ou le Parlement de la Comte de Bourgongne faisoit sa residence […].” – (”Dole”. Great and strong City where the Parliament of the Count of Bourgongne has its seat). The print shows the siege of Dole, with a war encampment in the foreground, and the city under cannon fire in the background. From ‘les Grandes Conquetes de Louis le grand’, Paris, c. 1679.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Daniel Marot’ after own design. Daniel Marot (1661-1752) originated from Paris. He was active as designer, architect and artist. Marot was very influential in the introduction of the style of Louis XIV in the Netherlands.
Condition: Very good, given age. Creases in middle of print, hardly visible. Ample margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
