Antique print, titled: ‘Parker, Archeveque de Cantorberi.’ – This portrait print shows Matthew Parker (1504-1575), Archbishop of Canterbury. Source unknown, to be determined.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Peter de Gunst’ after ‘Adriaen van der Werff’. Peter de Gunst (1659-1724) was a dutch engraver and draughtsman who engraved many portraits after van der Werff, van Dyck and van Hornhorst. Adriaen van der Werff (1659-1722) was an accomplished Dutch painter of portraits and erotic, devotional and mythological scenes from Rotterdam. His brother, Pieter van der Werff (1661–1722), was his principal pupil and assistant.
Condition: Very good, given age. Crease in lower and top margin and a bit in print. Scattered foxing stains in the margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
