From: ‘Chronyk van Hoorn…’, by Theodorus Velius, from an ed. published in Hoorn by Jakob Duyn in 1740 (4th. Ed.). Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘J. Goeree’ after ‘C. Pronk’. Jan Goeree (1670-1731) was a Dutch draughtsman and engraver from Middelburg. He was a pupil of Gerard de Lairesse. Cornelis Pronk / Pronck (1691-1759) was a Dutch draughtsman and (miniature) painter from Amsterdam. He was a pupil of Jan van Houten and Arnold Boonen. He is known for his great designs of geographical views.
Condition: Excellent, given age. Paper a bit frayed. Light soiling at paper edges. Paper edges a bit irregular / chipped. Image excellent. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
