Original print, titled: ‘Winteravond’. It shows: a winter village/rural landscape, with a woman walking with her dog towards a low cottage. Exact source unknown. Charles Louis Philippe Zilcken (The Hague 1857 – Villefranche 1930) was a Dutch graphic artist. He was a student of Anton Mauve and Karel Klinkerberg, and made a name for himself as one of the most famous graphic artists of the The Hague School. Anton Mauve (Zaandam 1838 – Arnhem 1888) was a Dutch painter and graphic artist. He was a student of Pieter Frederik van Os and Wouterus Verschuur. He collaborated with Paul Gabriel and Marinus Heijl. Vincent van Gogh was the cousin of Mauve’s wife, and was influenced by Mauve.

Condition: Excellent, given age. Faint stains in the margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
