Plate 15: ‘Een Vergadering alwaar iemand bij den tafel of ‘t altaar staat te prediken’ (A gathering with someone preaching at the table or altar). This original engraving originates from ‘Tafereelen der eerste Christenen, bestaande in 92 konstprenten’ (Scenes of the first Christians, in 92 prints). This book was published in 1740 in Amsterdam by Gerrity de Groot and Jacobus Rijkhof. The prints by Luyken are accompanied by texts by P. Langendyk and C. Condition: Very good, given age. A small spot of foxing in the center of the lower margin, a similar spot in the top margin. Original middle fold. Some general age-related toning and thumbing, please study scan carefully.
