Mark 14:22-25. “Sacrae historiae acta a Raphaele Urbin. in Vaticanis xystis ad picturae miraculum expressa Nicolaus Chapron”, first published in Rome, 1649. This work contains plates engraved after Raphael’s Vatican murals. Ref: IconClass 73D24.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Nicolas Chapron’ after an anonymous artist. The engraver of this work is Nicolas Chapron / Chaperon, French (1612-1656), designed after the Vatican murals by Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (1483-1520). The publisher of this edition is Pierre Mariette (1634-1716).
Condition: Good, given age. Original tiny binding holes in the left margin (as issued, not affecting image). Some small stains in margin, not affecting image. Some remains of metal in lower margin, from paper making, not affecting image. General age-related toning and occasional light stains from handling. Please study image carefully.
