Made by L.A. Claessens after J. Kuyper. Lambertus Antonius Claessens (Antwerp, 1763-1834) was a Flemish etcher and stipple engraver. Claessens was a student of the Antwerp Academy and Francesco Bartolozzi. Antwerp, London and Amsterdam were places where he worked from 1795-1808 and later in Paris (1809-1834). He worked for L.G. Portman. Jaques Kuyper (1761-1808) was a pupil of Andriessen and Izaak Schmidt. He worked as a history painter.

Condition: Good, given age. Some browning in corners. Some remains of glue from previous attachment on rear. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
