Paris: Dubuisson, n.d. [1864]. First Edition. [iv], ii, 387, [iii] pp. Each chapter is preceded by an unnumbered sheet with that chapter’s title.
Illustrated with 24 handcoloured wood engraved full-page illustrations and decorated with 25 handcoloured wood engraved headbands.
Large 8vo. In contemporary half morocco with raised bands and gilt titling and decoration, over marbled boards.

A reasonable copy, with some defects: A long tear in page 67-68, restored with paper in the margins and tape over the text area. Occasional restored nicks and small tears in the margins or damages to corners. The board edges and spine rubbed and a little worn. Corners bumped and boards scratched. The inside hinges were probably broken or weak, as cloth tape has been used in both inside hinges. Also, the binding headbands were probably replaced. Nevertheless a sound, complete and mostly clean copy of this scarce work.
