From: ‘Otium academicum, continens …’, by Jan Bleulamd, published by J. Altheer, Utrecht, 1828. This  is in fact a catalogue of the author’s collection of anatomical and pathological preparations. Jan Bleuland (1756-1838) was a professor at the Utrecht University and personal physician to King Louis Napoleon.

Extremely rare! A few of these plates are in the Rijksmuseum collection.

First plate signed in the plate by ‘Johannes Cornelis de Bruyn’ after ‘Jan Hendrik Verheyen’. Johannes Cornelis de Bruyn (active 1802-1844) was an awarded painter of mostly flowers, stillives and landscapes with cattle He was active in Utrecht and Batavia. Jan Hendrik Verheyen (1778-1846) was a painter and draughtsman from Utrecht. They possibly also made the other plates.

Condition: Good, given age. Some light soiling; A few with ghosting from previous framing or matting. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
