By: Paulus Pontius after P.P. Rubens. Paulus Pontius / Paul Ponce / du Pont (1603-1658) was a Flemish engraver from Antwerp and a pupil of Osias Beet and L. Vorsterman. He worked for Rubens from 1624-1631. He is considered one of the finest Flemish engravers.
Age: 1624.
Size sheet: c.22 x 32.3 cm.
Condition: Trimmed close to plate mark; Small worm hole at top left area; A few pinsize holes; Paper a bit thin at top corners. Bottom right corner with torn with slight paper loss, re-attached and backed; Horizontal crease in top area; old fold line; Light staining; A few tiny holes or light paper spots.
