Etching on hand laid (vergé) paper.

First published in Augsburg in the edition by Melchior Küsel (1626-83). More likely this is from the later edition by Jeremias Wolff (1663–1724). Prints 3,4 and 5 from the series of eight South German / Tyrolean landscapes. State: Hollstein Dutch 27, 28, 29
Made by ‘Roelant Roghman’ after own design. Roelant Roghman (1627-1692) was most famous for his drawings of dutch castles made in 1647. He made several sets of etchings. One set was made in Germany of Tyrolean landscapes. Roghman was a friend of Rembrandt and his etchings scarse.
Condition: Very good, given age. Trimmed at image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
