Biography engraver: Robert Boissard (c.1570-after 1601) was a French engraver of mostly portraits which can be dated 1581-1650. His Monogram RB can be found on this print.
Biography artist: Jean-Jacques Boissard (1528/33-1598/1602) was a French writer, antiquarian and painter/draughtsman from Metz. He maried in 1587 the daughter of the publisher Jean Aubry. He issued and made drawings for many illustrated books in the year 1581-1601, engraved and published by Robert Boissard, Theodor de Bry and others.
