Antique print, titled: ‘Map of Manor Renselaerwick.’ – A map of the Manor of Rensselaerswyck, a colonial estate. At first a Dutch patroonship and later an English manor, owned by the van Rensselaer family. It was located in what is now mainly the Capital District of New York in the United States, along the Hudson river. Based on a map by D. Vaughan which in turn was based on a 1767 manuscript map/survey by Jno. R. Bleeker. This is a lithographically made map from ca. 1849. “Maps in the offices of Secr. Of State and Surveyor General”, Albany: Richard H. Pease, ca. 1850. Cartographers were David Vaughan, E.O. Olmsted and M.E. Seymour.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘J.E. Gavit’ after an anonymous artist. This item Engraved & printed by J.E. Gavit.
Condition: Excellent, given age. Original folds as issued. Creases in right margin and right side of image. Some tiny stains. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
