By Lucas van Leyden. Lucas van Leyden (1494 – 1533), also named either Lucas Hugensz or Lucas Jacobsz, a Dutch painter and printmaker in engraving and woodcut.
First published in 1519. This ed. was published in Antwerp c. 1560-1580, possibly by M. Peeters (name partly erased in rock at left top). We base this on the paper which has a watermark of a banner with CSAVOY under a dolphin topped by a flower (paper from Troyes, Chanpagne, France)
Engraving on hand laid paper.
