‘Spirea tribola, 12.’

Etching wiht original hand colouring on wove (vellin) paper.
Sheet size: 20 x 26 cm. (7,9 x 10,2 inch). Image size: 17,5 x 23,5 cm. (6,9 x 9,3 inch).

This attractive print was pyblished by K.L. Wildenow in Hortus Berolinensis from 1803-1816. This was page 12 from the book.

Made by ‘Friedrich Guimpel’ after ‘K.L. Wildenow’. Friedrich Guimpel (1774-1839) was engraver, botanical illustrator, artist and professor at the Berlin Academy of Arts.

Condition: Good, given age. Some stains in lower right corner because of turning pages from the book, brownish paper, crease in upper left corner, piece of paper missing in lower right corner. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
