Gerardus Larisse Pictor Leodiensis – (Gerard de Lairesse from Liege/Luik) Gerard de Lairesse (1640/1641 – 1711) was a very talented Belgian Golden Age engraver, painter and art theorist. Painter and etcher. Born at Liege, 1660 to Berlin, 1665 to Amsterdam; moved to The Hague around 1684.

Made by ‘Petrus Schenk’ after ‘Gerard de Lairesse’. Pieter/ Petrus Schenk / Schenck the elder (1660-1711/1713), a German engraver and cartographer active in Amsterdam and Leipzig. One of his specialties was the mezzotint.

Condition: Good, given age. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
