Part of a series of four aquatints depicting the first recorded steeplechase, published in 1839. This is Plate IV, titled “The finish?a good ‘un still alive?Grand Chorus, The Lads of the Village!”

Medium: Aquatint with hand colouring on wove (vellin) paper.

Condition: very good, given age. Light foxing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
