Plate 49: ”Melastoma pulcherrimum.” (Plant species from the Melastomataceae family, probably Melastoma sanguineum or Fox-tongued melastoma.) This rare attractive original old antique print / plate originates from: ‘Verhandelingen over de natuurlijke geschiedenis der Nederlandsche overzeesche bezittingen …’, by C.J. Temminck, published in Leiden by S. en J. Luchtmans en C.C. van der Hoek, 1839-1844. Scarse! This work covers the scientific findings of the explorations to Java, Indonesia.
