Subject: 2 Antique drawings, titled: ‘R.W. van Rossum.’ – Set of a portrait drawing and a print of Reynardus Willem van Rossum (1792-1874). He was married with Maria Engelen (1792-1853), which marriage took place on July 12, 1815. They had 3 children: Joannes Jakobus Albertus (1816-1817), Joannes Jakobus Albertus (1817-1818) and Wilhelmina Maria Jakoba (1819-1893). We found reference that Reynardus was a reformed minister in Alphen. Apparently he married again in 1822 with Johanna Groenemeyer and had 2 more children. The pencil drawing of Reynardus appears to be the design (as it is in reverse and thus not a copy) for a crayon style lithograph by J.P. Berghaus made in 1854 which is included as well.
