‘THE ISRAELITES PASSE THE RIVER JORDAN (..).’

– Original antique print illustrating the biblical narrative from the Book of Joshua (Joshua 3:14-17). It shows the moment the Israelites safely passed the parted, dammed waters of the Jordan River. The priests are shown carrying the Ark of the Covenant, stepping into the river to initiate the miracle. Twelve designated men gather memorial stones from the now-dry riverbed, representing the twelve tribes of Israel.
