This print shows a view on a village scene with four men gathered around an upturned barrel outside a tavern, the hostess standing in the doorway with a plate and jug; in a roundel. Mirror image.
Made by monogram LB after David Teniers the younger.
Medium: engraving / etching on hand laid (vergé) paper. Watermark: coat of arms.
Sheet size: 15.7 x 16.5 cm (6.18 x 6.5 inch). Image size: 13.7 x 13.7 cm. (5.39 x 5.39 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Red colour on reverse. Creases. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

This attractive print was published in ca 1700. A copy in reverse after this print was made by Balthasar Anton Duncker in 1771.
Biography artist: David Teniers the younger (1610-1690) was a flemish printmaker, painter/draughtsman.
