‘MAX KLINGER; XII (AMOR TOD UND JENSEITS)’

– Love, death and beyond. Amor seated nude on a vehicle, followed by figures representing death. A skeleton sits on the back of a fantastic vehicle, resembling a coffin with legs. He chases Cupid who navigates from a bicycle seat in front, bow in hand. A buffalo like figure carries a ghostly figure. The image might represent a disturbing concept of the Beyond, or simply a figure from Klinger’s own imagination.
