BACKGROUND INFORMATION

From ‘Liber Chronicarum’ (Nuremberg Chronicle) = Schedelsche Weltchronik, by Hartmann Schedel, printed by Anton Koberger in Nuremberg, 1493.

Biography engraver: Michael Wolgemut (1434-1519) and Wilhelm Pleydenwurff (c.1450-1494) were German artists and printmakers. Wolgemut, Albrecht D?rer’s teacher, collaborated with Pleydenwurff in producing woodcut illustrations for the Nuremberg Chronicle.

Biography artist: Author: Hartmann Schedel (1440-1514) was a German historian, physician, humanist, and one of the first cartographers to use the printing press.
