Biography engraver: Philippe Simonneau (fl. 1685 – after 1729) was a French engraver active in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, known for his fine and detailed engravings, often after designs by Le Clerc and other prominent French artists. He was the son of Charles Simonneau, also a well-known engraver.

Biography artist: Sebastien Le Clerc (1637-1714) was a prominent French draughtsman and engraver, celebrated for his prolific output of prints ranging from scientific and architectural subjects to allegorical and religious themes. He served as the official engraver to Louis XIV and was a professor at the Acad?mie Royale.
