Medium: Handcoloured and plate coloured (a-la-pouppee) stipple engraving. on wove (vellin) paper.

Sheet size: 28 x 36.7 cm (11.02 x 14.45 inch). Image size: 25.5 x 35 cm. (10.04 x 13.78 inch).

Condition: good, given age. A little soiled on the platemark, small stains in the margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Biography engraver: Charles Knight (1743-1826) was an English engraver. Although mainly known for his engraving, he was also active as miniature painter. He engraved plates after Kaufmann, Reynolds, Northcote, Benwell and Wheatley. William Beechey (1753-1839) was an English portrait-painter.
