Condition: good, given age. Foxing and soiling. A few small tears in margins, backed. Ppaper seretation at lower plate edge, backed. Remains of tape on rear from previous attachment. . General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography engraver: Christian Josi (1768-1828) was a Dutch printmaker, stipple engraver, print dealer and collector. He was born in Utrecht, and worked in Amsterdam with Ploos van Amstel. George Morland (1763-1804) was an English painter of animals and rustic scenes. He was born in London, third son of Henry Robert Morland. His father, artist, engraver and picture restorer. Morland’s work in painting is characterised by the simple subjects he painted. He depicted the life he knew from his own experience. Morland worked closely with William and James Ward, and later married their sister Anne.
