Kings Jehoash, Amaziah and Azariah. In the background some important events from their lives. In the background on the left, Jehoash’s predecessor, Queen Athaliah, is put to death. In the middle of the background, the murdered King Amaziah is being taken to Jerusalem on horseback. In the background on the right, King Azariah sits covered by a gate. He lived in isolation because he suffered from skin damage. Below the scene, references to the Bible texts in Latin.

Biography artist: Jan Snellinck or Jan Snellinck (I) (c. 1548 – 1 October 1638) was a Flemish painter, draughtsman and designer of tapestries, prints and frescoes. He is known for his large altarpieces and was also recognized as a leading battle painter in his time. Snellinck was active as an art dealer and art collector.
