Published in Paris c. 1730.
Biography engraver: Pierre Aveline (1702-1760), French printmaker, nephew of Antoine, pupil of Jean Baptiste de Poilly. He is particularly noted for his reproductions of Antoine Watteau’s works.
Biography artist: Jean-Antoine Watteau (1684-1721) was a French painter and draughtsman whose brief career spurred the revival of interest in colour and movement.
