Medium: Engraving/etching on hand laid (verge) paper.

Sheet size: 15.5 x 20.5 cm (6.1 x 8.07 inch). Image size: 13.4 x 16.7 cm. (5.28 x 6.57 inch).

Condition: very good, given age. Trimms at left plate mark. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Published in The Netherlands c. 1700.

Biography engraver: Mattys / Matthijs Pool (1670-1732) worked as a printmaker/publisher in Amsterdam. He travelled to France.

Biography artist: Jan Anthonisz van Ravesteyn (1572(?) – 1657) was a successful portrait painter to the Dutch court in The Hague.
