‘TREFFEN BEI THANN, DEN 19. APRIL 1809. ‘
This original antique plate shows the Battle of Teugen-Hausen or the Battle of Thann on 19 April 1809 between the French III Corps led by Marshal Louis-Nicolas Davout and the Austrian III Armeekorps commanded by Prince Friedrich Franz Xaver of Hohenzollern-Hechingen.
Made by anaonymous after von Rothenburg.
Steel engraving on wove (vellin) paper.
Condition: good, given age. Some foxing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
