Copperplate engraving/etching on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 40 x 30,5 cm. Image size: 32,5 x 24 cm.

This map originates from the 1613 edition of ‘Discrittione di tutti i Paesi Bassi’, by L. Guicciardini, published by J. Blaeu. We carry most maps from this book which was published from 1581-1648.

Made by an anonymous engraver after Lodovico Guicciardini. Lodovico Guicciardini (1521-1589): an Italian merchant from aristocratic descent.

Condition: Very good, given age. A few crinkles in the margins. Neatly repaired tear bottom middle fold, not extending into image. Original middle fold as issued. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
