Made by ‘Adriaen Collaert’ after ‘Maarten de Vos’. Adriaen Collaert (ca.1560?1618) was a Flemish designer and engraver. He was the son of Jan Collaert I and Anna van der Heijden. He married Justa Galle, the daughter of the man he worked for, Philip Galle. Adriaen Collaert was the brother of Jan Collaert I. Maarten de Vos (1532-1603) was an Antwerp painter and draughtsman of the late sixteenth century. His travels to Italy made him adopt the Mannerist style. His designs were very popular and were followed widely.
