From: ‘Les plus beaux monuments de Rome ancienne ou Recueil des plus beaux morceaux de l’Antiquité romaine’. Rome: chez Bouchard & Gravier, 1761.

Made by Jean Barbault after own design. Jean Barbault (1718–1762) was a French painter, etcher and printmaker, who worked in Rome for most of his life. He is noted for paintings of local people, wearing traditional costumes or Oriental costumes and for his work documenting iconic Roman monuments and antiquities which were published in two volumes.

Condition: Very good, given age. A few minor crinkles General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
